Management
The officers of PetroSun are elected by and serve at the discretion of the Board of Directors. A brief description of the business experience of our officers and directors is set forth below.
Gordon M. LeBlanc, Jr. - CEO / Chairman PetroSun
Gordon M. LeBlanc, Jr., 55, is a third generation member of the oil and gas industry with over thirty years of experience as an operator and geological consultant. Mr. LeBlanc founded PetroSun in 2001 and is responsible for the transition into the energy services sector.
Driven to discover new energy production and reserves, Mr. LeBlanc founded LeBlanc Oil (1985) and Tiger Energy (1990) to concentrate on developing oil and gas prospects in the Holbrook Basin of Arizona, the San Juan Basin of New Mexico, the Canning Basin of Western Australia and the Cooper-Eromonga and Surat basins of Queensland, Australia. PetroSun and its subsidiaries will exploit these prospects both domestically and internationally.
Mr. LeBlanc oversees a variety of philanthropic endeavors. He is the co-founder of “Every Kid Counts”, a 501-C3 children’s charity based in Phoenix, Arizona and has actively served for the past ten years as co-chairman of a group dedicated to fundraising efforts benefiting officers of the Phoenix Police Department.
Mr. LeBlanc majored in petroleum geology at Centenary College of Louisiana.
Rayfield Wright- President / Director / PetroSun
For thirteen historic seasons playing with The NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, Rayfield Wright began to display the leadership skills that would one day drive his post NFL career. As a member of the Cowboys Wright participated in 166-games, started at right tackle in six NFC championship games, played in five Super Bowls, winning two of them (VI and XII), earned his first of four All-NFL honors in 1971 and was voted that same year to the first of six straight Pro Bowls. His blocking and leadership as the team's co-captain for 7 years, helped the Cowboys win 10 division titles and six conference crowns.
For his accomplishments on the field, Wright was named to the NFL’s all Decade Team of the 1970’s. In 2004, he was inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor and in August of 2006, Mr. Wright was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Off the field, Wright pursued a career in Financial Management and was involved in a variety of business ventures. It was also during this period that Wright began a successful twenty year relationship working with Mr. LeBlanc on energy related projects.
When a knee injury forced his retirement from football in 1979 he began a successful career as entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist.
Mr Wright’s passion and devotion to improving the lives of at-risk, inner-city youth resulted in his appointment to the Juvenile Supreme Court in Arizona. He also served as president of the NFL Alumni Chapter, “Caring for Kids” program in the mid-nineties. Mr. Wright is a co-founder and president of "Kids 4 Tomorrow" a non-profit organization of former professional athletes that work with children in K-12th grade. A gifted speaker and author of the book, “Wright Up Front”, he is often called upon to share his inspirational story with community groups, schools, church’s and civic leaders.
The Athletes International Ministries awarded Mr. Wright the Hall of Faith Award in 1997. Wright was inducted into the State of Georgia's Hall of Fame in 1988. He was a member of the NFL All Super Bowl Team in 1990 and received the NFL Legends Award that same year. He was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
Mr. Wright currently resides with his family in Texas.
John F. Templin II, Ph.D – Executive Vice President, Oil & Gas Division
John F. Templin II, Ph.D (AAPG # 32584-0) has been actively involved in the Oil & Gas Industry since 1976. Dr. Templin has generated and directed multi-million dollar oil and gas exploration projects worldwide. He has generated, acquired and drilled oil and gas prospects in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico and Arizona, as well as in the Eromanga Basin of Queensland Australia, the Pedirka Basin in the Northern Territory and the Canning Basin of Western Australia. Dr. Templin planned and coordinated all phases of the oil and gas investment strategies and is experienced in the supervision and management of exploration and development programs. Dr. Templin is experienced in drilling wildcat exploration wells on remote locations and has always satisfied local, national and international regulatory bodies regarding drilling and concession activities.
Dr. Templin uses sophisticated internet techniques and applications to supervise, direct and manage both technical and support personnel. He understands and effectively utilizes high powered “state of the art” computer equipment and processing software to assist exploration efforts. Dr. Templin has acquired, processed and integrated land-sat imagery, gravity, magnetic, seismic and subsurface data with soil analysis, radiometrics and oil maturation studies to optimize exploration activities. He is also experienced with data processing of various thematic data layers and relational databases, which include standardization of file formats, projections, datum and coordinate systems, and is proficient in the creation of derived data layers based on combinations of multiple data sets.
Dr. Templin is a life member of the National Registry of Who's Who in American Business.
